About The Live List

Amsterdam and the surrounding area has one of the best English-language comedy scenes in Europe. Touring headliners, world-class improv, weekly open mics, grassroots nights, visiting legends. It’s all here, happening every week, in venues across the city.

The problem is finding it.

If you’ve ever missed a show because you didn’t know about it until it was over, you know the drill. Comedy in Amsterdam is scattered across a dozen Instagram accounts, three WhatsApp groups, and a handful of venue websites that may or may not have been updated. There’s no one place that pulls it all together.

That’s what The Live List is for.

Every Wednesday The Live List lands in your inbox with every English-language comedy show happening in Amsterdam that week, from Thursday through to the following Tuesday. Pro shows, open mics, improv nights, courses, and anything else worth knowing about. Plus a Pick of the Week: one show that’s worth going out of your way for, with an honest recommendation from someone who’s actually on the scene.

Who writes it

I’m Adam Reed, a comedian based in Amsterdam, performing regularly on the English-language circuit. I started The Live List because I was tired of spending half my week tracking down what was on, and I figured if I was going to do the research anyway, I might as well share it.

This is a newsletter written by someone who’s in the rooms, knows the promoters, and has an opinion about which shows are worth your time and which are worth skipping.

What you get
